Hello Art World!!

January 1, 2012

Hello out there.  I promised myself that I would begin a blog today.  That is just what I am doing.

I am a fine artist.  It took me literally years to say those five words, and even longer to write them down.  I lost my way in my world of art about five years ago, and am making a new beginning.  In June 2011 I began that journey by taking a plein air workshop from Albuquerque Fine Artist Waid Griffin.  It was dreadfully hot and dry this past June, and my enthusiasm was the only thing that kept me going.  I am truly in love with plein air painting now.

I also subscribed to Robert Genn’s letters about the same time.  They have been that silken cord connecting me to the rest of the art world even when I tried to hide.  I eagerly await each letter, and devour it when it arrives.  His letters have encouraged me, provoked me, made me scratch my head; but they always hold my interest.  God bless Robert Genn.

This post isn’t exactly what I had in mind when I started this journey to set up a blog this morning.  I still can’t figure out how to insert one of my paintings, but tomorrow is another day, and I’ll try to figure it out then.

In the meantime, just keep smearing that paint, I sure will,

Linda, now I know how to enlarge your posted paintings. Must say, it’s not like seeing your paintings in the flesh so to speak, for the one posted, just glows in real time. Your best fan! Margo. Now I will pick up my brush, & get busy on the antelope painting.
